The Swiss-based leasing company European Loc Pool (ELP, www.europeanlocpool.com<\/a>) offers full-service operating leasing (including maintenance, servicing and insurance services) of modern energy-efficient locomotives for rail operators and logistics companies throughout Europe. ELP’s focus is on Stadler six-axle hybrid locomotives (EuroDual and Euro9000) with up to 2.8MW diesel, 9MW electric and 500kN tractive effort, which can be used on electrified and non-electrified lines. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its foundation in 2018, AIL has supported, advised and accompanied ELP as a financial advisor in the long-term refinancing of its locomotive leasing portfolio. In total, the financing volume structured and arranged by AIL for ELP to date amounts to over EUR 700 million for the financing of more than 150 locomotives. The lender is a large syndicate of Swiss banks with UBS Switzerland as lead arranger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The services provided by AIL in connection with the financing of the locomotive lease portfolio are very diverse and, in addition to structuring the customized financing, include support in the preparation of the long-term business plan and the underlying financial planning, support in the negotiation of the financing documentation and the management and coordination of all activities of the financing process through to completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
