Closing of Payment Security Solution for Kanadevia Inova Project in Ireland

AIL successfully closed a specific payment security solution based on the support of the Swiss Export Risk Insurance SERV in connection with a long-term O&M services agreement of Kanadevia Inova with Ireland’s premier Waste to Energy Facility in Dublin.

As of mid-March 2026, Kanadevia Inova AG (www.kanadevia-inova.com), Switzerland, a global leader in waste to energy and renewable gas solutions, has officially closed the acquisition of the operations and maintenance (O&M) contract at the Dublin Waste to Energy plant.

The local O&M company has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Kanadevia Inova AG. Around 60 highly specialised employees at the Dublin plant have officially joined the company’s 3,600-strong global workforce.

The Dublin Waste to Energy Facility was constructed by Kanadevia Inova in its role as EPC contractor and has been in operation since 2017, serving the Greater Dublin Area. Under the terms of the new long-term O&M contract, Kanadevia Inova will upgrade the annual waste incineration capacity of the Dublin plant from the current 607’500 tonnes of waste to 690’000 tonnes per year. The Dublin plant generates enough electricity to power 115’000 homes and delivers district heating for up to 50’000 households.

Given the long-term nature of the O&M contract, reliable and timely service payments are critical to maintaining operational efficiency and service quality. To mitigate the associated payment risks, Kanadevia Inova established a tailored revolving payment cover with Swiss Export Risk Insurance SERV, securing monthly O&M payments from the Dublin plant to the local O&M company over a period of more than seven years.

This customized solution protects Kanadevia Inova against potential payment defaults, ensures stable cash flows, and supports the sustainable execution of the O&M contract, while aligning with best practices in financial and operational risk management.

The solution, structured and implemented by AIL for the benefit of Kanadevia Inova, further demonstrates AIL’s strong expertise and in-depth know-how in designing and delivering tailor-made, non-standardized payment risk mitigation structures.
